I can import a Google Sheet, but when I attempt to force a sync, the Google Sheet is grayed out in the Sync List options. Anyone know what I can do to remedy this? As it stands, it does not appear that Glide is updating changes I make in the Google Sheets after it has been imported into Glide. Hence, I was trying to force a sync but now I am guessing there is no sync set up but I am not sure how to do that.
For clarification, which plan are you on, and is it a Legacy or New plan?
Also, what you are showing is how to add data sources. Syncing is done elsewhere…usually a little refresh button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
This is an older App that has the “Classic” tag. After I Select “Import” option (because the Google Sheets is Grayed out and not an option) The information (my Google Sheets Grade Book in this case) imports successfully. However, the Google Sheet does not appear down in the left corner under Data Sources- it does appear in the list of Tables though. In the upper left corner is says “Migrated-Enterprise”. I am suspecting they are not allowing this option for the older apps. Another thing I just thought of is that the associated Google account is a Workspace Google account and maybe I need to go into the Admin settings and find where there is an option that allows syncing?
I went into the Google Workspace Admin console and looked up Glide and gave it Trusted and API exemption access status…waiting now to see if that updates and Glide picks up that change and then allows syncing. If that doesn’t work then my next guess is that Glide is not allowing syncing with “Classic” labeled apps. Hopefully I am wrong. If anyone knows more on this matter, please advise. Thank you
It’s greyed out because you already have a Google Spreadsheet connected, and you cannot connect more than one.
Are you 100% sure you don’t see a reload icon at the bottom left?
No, that’s not true.
Yes, you are correct. That is a bummer because my grade book program is a separate Google Spreadsheet and there is not way to combine them given the grade book program is a 3rd party app I subscribe to. How do I disconnect a Data Source?
You can remove a Data Source via Settings->Data->Data Sources.
Take care when doing that, however, as anything in your App that refers to that Data Source will immediately break when you do so.
Another (possibly safer) option you could consider is to use IMPORTRANGE in your already connected Google Spreadsheet to add sheets from the second spreadsheet.
Safer option sounds good to me lol! I will study Import Range and try it. Thank you
