🆕 January Recap: New Features, Fixes, and Community Highlights

Hello Gliders!

For January, we brought native automations to Glide with Workflows; added new integrations for analytics and AI actions; and snuck some sought-after QOL upgrades into preview.

On the community side, our members shared a ton of new resources and project showcases over the last month. You’ll find some of those linked below.

Let’s get to it.

Note: Glide Experts get a weekly update every Friday with a summary of recent platform fixes + improvements. You should join the program if you’re building Glide apps for your clients.

Add automation to Glide with Workflows

Workflows bring automation to Glide with new triggers, logic, and action steps. Check out the Workflows announcement for details, along with our Workflows webinar replay and official docs.

Community Challenge: Workflows

Following the release of Workflows, we launched our first Community Challenge of the year, inviting you to share demos of Workflows built in Glide. There’s $400+ in Glide credit up for grabs! Winners + our next challenge will be announced this week.

Event: Grow your revenue by offering automation solutions

Eva Živanovič (@evazivanovic) is a Glide Certified Expert and founder of Ziki Solutions. Eva joined Brett Haralson, our Head of Experts, for a Q&A diving into how she’s grown her agency revenue by specializing in automation.

Following up on December’s announcements

We called out some new community initiatives in our December update.

Here’s what’s going on with those:

Experts Accelerator course in Glide University

  • This is a “repackaging” of our Experts Accelerator content from last year’s cohort. It complements the existing Glide certification courses. We’re on track to launch in February.

Community Showcase for sharing your Glide app demos

  • This was delayed due to our work on Glide Workflows. Plus, given we already have a Showcase section in the forum, we’re deciding whether this is worth continuing. More details to come.

More learning options for non-Experts

  • We held our first invite-only customer training event last week, and we’re wrapping up our Workflows community challenge this weekend. February’s challenge will be announced this week, and we’re planning for more initiatives later this quarter and into the spring.

Thanks for the shoutout! :sunglasses:

Is this available yet? Sounds awesome

  • Conditional visibility to columns in the Data Grid component.
  • Different Choice column options for each row in a Data Grid component.
  • Create File action for Workflows.

I’ve seen this one for sure.

I think these are not live in production, but in staging.

This is live in production.

Why don’t I see the new features?

Loving the monthly Recaps with lists of new features and bug fixes we otherwise wouldn’t notice.

Keep it up!

Idem.

Which features are you referring to?

Hi - I am not seeing loops available in workflows.

They are available in webhook, schedule and email triggered workflows.

Thanks, OK, requires Maker purchase.

I have the same question as others about the visibility feature. What am I missing?

You’re not missing anything, it’s just they’re not in production environment yet.

Glide has a staging environment at https://staging.heyglide.com.

Please tell me, in this heyglide environment, can I pay for the tariff and develop applications for publication?

No, you must not, it should only be for testing.

Even id yoi take a premium plan, it is a test Stripe Transaction. So it needs to be used with Stripe Test Card Number.

Never use it in production.

Apps and data in the staging heyglide environment could be deleted at any time by Glide. Do not use it to store important data or build your apps.
