Hi David, sorry to be off topic a bit but I canāt miss this opportunity while you are here.
Is it possible to allow us to purchase custom domain. That means instead of adding rows for a pro App, I just want to be able to buy custom domain at a reduced price than the current pro price. This helps with promoting my Apps so that my clients are not aware that itās so EASY with glide that way I lose them. I know that it may not align with glideās vision making more people to be makers but it will also help to get more makers like myself to go pro and sell most of the App that are in staging currently. Branding is very important for me more than additional rows especially for my MVPs.
We were taking the most of those extra 1k edits. Unfortunately, we just lost them when transferring the ownership of the apps to our group. Any way to have them back?
I use redirects for many of my free apps - most of the time people never notice the redirected url - sharing a branded url and pushing it to glide.io works well for me.
True. It makes sense what you say. For me it was more for App promotional reasons whereby I build the App and then go and demonstrate to a potential customer and persuade the customer with a āliveā demo without having the āPop upā in the middle of the demo saying āthis App was built with a Google sheet for FREEā and yet there I am asking the client to pay serious money.
When you are still a newbie to glide, knowing that glide exists is a competitive advantage on its own until you learn more tricks and build more complex Apps then you realise that your skills and intuitiveness is the actual competitive advantage then you become more open about the platform you used to build your App with.
Most of the Experts here are not afraid to disclose that they use glide for their Apps because their knowledge and skill has become their competitive advantage.
For us who are still learning, getting a custom domain allows us that bit of runway to learn more tricks in glide and then we can become more open about the platform we useā¦
It only costs a few bucks to get rid of that
Remember that Glide charges are pro-rated, so you can upgrade an app one day (to do your demo), and then downgrade it the next day and itāll cost you next to nothing (depending on the time of month).
Trueā¦this is what I do currently hence I never raised this issue again. Just upskilling by learning from you guys and then buildingā¦
Less complaints and more learning from those with more skills and then SELL!
