Image component does not crop 'multiple images' to selected aspect ratio

Hey there folks!

I’ve created an image component with its source set to a “Multiple Images” column. I’d like the aspect ratio to be restricted to 16:9, even on images that aren’t 16:9, so I picked “16:9” in the Aspect Ratio setting in the properties panel.

However, as can be seen on the image above, the images in that column are not restricted to the 16:9 aspect ratio—no matter the actual aspect ratio of the images (e.g. one image 1:1, one image 4:3, etc) it doesn’t crop the content and instead restricts it to a 1:1 aspect ratio.

Is there any way to fix this? This doesn’t occur when the source is set to the singular “Image” column.

Thanks!

Idea 1: Your could try creating an custom image component that does exactly what you want it to do with the custom AI component.

Idea 2: Crop the image as needed before uploading it to Glide

Support said that you should change this to a feature request - the Image Carousel has always only been one ratio without fit/fill options.
