How to separate accounts correctly

Hello,
I’m creating a film rating application, a bit like letterboxd but for me, my friends and family.
Everyone will need their own account. Nothing will be mixed up. The problem at the moment is that, with any address I connect to the application, nothing is separated.

The films I have as recommendations, favourites, etc., are all in my account. Anyone with a different address who logs on has the same as me. What can I do?

I understood the video and the rest. However, I’d like it to happen “automatically”.
I want when I share the app with a friend, they can create their profile, search for their films, rate them, etc.
For the moment, if a friend of mine launches the app and wants to rate, it will be my ratings that I put in earlier.

It does happen automatically. When your friend signs up, the app will look empty because the rows do not have their email address in them. As they create rows, as long as those rows have their email in the owner column, they will see them (and other users will not).

I’ve got it! Thank you so much! I had to use User Specific. Now the problem is that I can’t get them to each have a profile photo, so I can change it in the application for example.

No, do not use user-specific for this.

If you have a table Movies:

  • Make sure there is a column that contains the email address of whoever added that movie. This should be a normal column, not user specific.
  • Set that column as a row owner
  • Now, all users see only the rows where the owner matches their email

Yes, but if you like, the films are added by me. They can’t add to them. They can only rate it, give it a review and add it as a favourite. This works very well with User Specific.

Ah, yes – if you want users to have their own data in the same row, use User-specific columns. If you want users to have their own rows, use owners.
