Hide empty radio button on Choice not working

Hello, I have a choice field which is showing a blank option, which I want to hide. Here are the relevant settings:

• Radio buttons
• Required is on
• Filter data requires the field to not be empty

I see a couple threads (including this one) which suggest that turning Required on should work. But it’s already on. I’ve toggled it off/on to no effect. Is this a bug? Other suggestions?

It is a bug. Many experts are complaining about it as well.
