Hello All,
I am brand spanking new to Glide. I created an app following along with the video "Barcode Scanning with Glide and Airtable. However, I used a google sheet instead of Airtable.

I am looking to build an app where students can scan the barcode on their ID cards and automatically be marked as having attended the weight room on any given day. I would like for this to happen without user / instructor intervention. For example, if I am a student I would scan the barcode, the date and time would be recorded of my scan and the barcode scanner would then be ready automatically to record the next scan.

I look forward to being a part of the community and learning what I can and helping once I’ve gained some knowledge.

add a new sheet to collect scan data…
add a new USC (user-specific) number column to collect scan results…
add a button…
create a custom action…

  1. scan the barcode
  2. add a new row to the scan data sheet, with the scan number and date… plus the user email

to avoid cheating… you can generate and print new scan code every day :wink:
