Editing data grid via mobile

I have a data grid set to edit so that users can add numbers directly into it. When double tapping a cell to edit, the entry box is very wide and goes off screen, throwing the whole app out of shape. Is this normal - ideally the entry box would be the same width as the cell.

Also, if a number is deleted it becomes a zero - is there any way to clear the cell completely?
