DNS Records - Custom Domain - Verification Fail - A Records

Hi all,
I have purchased a custom domain (agrihubco.com.au) and hoping to have my website (squarespace) point to this and then have a sub domain e.g. dashboard.agrihubco.com.au for my glide app.
I have run into two points of confusion.

  1. I am struggling to understand how to create a sub domain on Cloudflare
  2. Following the steps I have read in these threads here I still can not get my site to verify, it tells me i have too many A records - however as others have suggested I can not delete them as they are to link the domain with my website.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
    thank you,
    kate

Was the site hosted on cloudflare? Or you just pointed the DNS there?
For instance I use to host a site on namecheap/Bluehost then point it to cloudflare servers if that’s the case then you’ll have to create a subdomain there.

Also are you on a cloudflare plan? Because I think they have some limitations set - I remember being limited at one point before. Not sure if this is related.

Can you share some screen shots of your custom domain settings in Glide?
Each of Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3 please.

Hi Micheal,

Ahh I think I have just pointed it there - I purchased the domain on Crazy Domains and now it points to cloudflare. I originally contacted Crazy Domains and they said they could not faciliate creating a sub domain and that I would have to go to CloudFlare to create the sub domain.
No not on a plan but I might need to look into that!
Thanks so much for the suggestions!

Hi Darren,

Yes for sure! Thank you for looking into this!

Thank you!

You can point the domains to Cloudflare from Crazy Domains, and then in Cloudflare, you can create a subdomain, for example: dashboard.agrihubco.com.au. Additionally, make sure to set the SSL/TLS to Full. I’ve attached some images for reference.

Your problem is at Step 1:

That should be dashboard.agrihubco.com.au

Once you fix that, you should delete all DNS records on cloudflare that reference dashboard, and then only add the new set of records that Glide provides at Step 2. This will usually be a single CNAME record, and a single TXT record.

Hi Darren,

Thank you so much for your help, truley appreciate it so much.

Does this mean that the url will still stay as it is finishing in .glidepage

I might have miss understood I thought by adding the custom domain I could remove the .glide.page component.

Cheers

That URL will still work, but you will also have the option of using your custom URL, ie. https://dashboard.agrihubco.com.au (https://dashboard.agrihubco.com.au)

Darren you are a legend! Ingore my other reply it must have taken a minute to flick over!
It is all working as expected and directing people to the correct page!
Thank you so so very much!!!
