When you use a detail screen to edit data (instead of the edit screen) with a text field to update data. Do you use 1 update per typed character?
It might vary depending on how fast you type. I’d be more inclined to say that the update only occurs periodically every few seconds or so. It might be less or more than the number of fields you are updating. Sorry, I don’t have a more solid answer. I think it’s just one of those things you need to experiment with yourself. I’d definitely say it’s not as bad as you are thinking it is. If you are typing one character every 5 seconds, then yes it might count each one as an update, but it you type quickly, then it will be less updates.
