Date/Time field shows time when column set to date only

I just added a DOB field. Set the column to Date/time Date only Short form. Data adds to table correctly but displays on-screen with time appended.
I have exact same field settings in another app that doesnt show the time.
What is wrong here?

Can you show a screen shot of your date/time column configuration?

Also, which on screen component are you using?
