Columns layout

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be seeing on the front end with the various column layouts. Can someone suggest templates where I can see what this is supposed to look like on the front end and how I arrange the components? I played around with it, but maybe I just don’t have enough data or I’m not designing the page correctly because I’m certainly not getting a column layout on the front end.

They work well if you’re looking for a simple way to change layouts. I’ve used them in my pages as well like this one: Orbis Media
