For the chat, all chat interfaces I use in any other application or use case show the newest messages at the bottom, that works in glide UNTIL it reaches the max page size. The max page size should limit should always show the newest messages.
The way around this is to organize from top down, but then your entering new text in the bottom anyway, its just GOOFY.

I would like to add that the UX of tapping on a message to display a menu of actions is poor. The menu disappears unless you scroll the entire chat whilst holding down your finger. Only then will the menu stick and then you can select an option. It’s frustrating for users and not at all intuitive. These menus are essential to add chat features such as reply, like, view image, etc…
In addition, the chat should allow an image to be added without the need to use workarounds, embedding html inside Rich Text.
Adding features such as like & reply would be valuable.

This is so accurate, but I have two additional things related to the chat module.
-
Display images. I use this to send/receive SMS messages. But those that include an image there’s nowhere to show the image. I can do it as a comment module, but for SMS chat obviously makes more sense and I would like to see that included here.

Bubble Color By Shared Email: Now, the color of the chat bubble is determined by the signed in user. But, my app helps us with customer service so I have multiple users that all jump in and help with various conversations. I would like to display all our “from” texts as blue regardless of which user sent it. Instead of defaulting to the signed in user, just make it selectable so I can select either the signed in user or another column of data just like other features.
