Build Request – Help Build a "Dream Dictionary"

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a bit of an unusual request. I’ve been working in the field of dream interpretation from a biblical perspective for over 20 years and previously had a dream dictionary app in the app stores. It had a user base, but due to the constant updates required by Apple and Google, and some personal challenges my developer faced, we had to take it down a few years ago.

Recently, I had a dream and God told me to use Glide to rebuild and expand this app! I had never heard of Glide  It wasn’t just a good idea—it was one of those rare moments where I knew this was the direction I needed to go. So here I am.

The vision is to rebuild the dream dictionary and eventually integrate a journal feature that guides users through interpreting their own dreams based on the model I’ve developed and trademarked over the years.

The challenge? I’m single and my adult son was recently found after being missing for 18 months and is currently hospitalized for mental illness, and when he’s released, I’ll need to care for him full-time from home. That means I need to transition into something that can help support us, but I’m short on time and resources to get it going.

I’m looking for someone who might be willing to help me build the app—either for free as a passion project or with a flat fee arrangement to be paid once it’s up and running. When I say help, I mean I have aptitude and desire to learn the software and even just having someone to walk me through it would be an amazing help. I wasted 6 hours yesterday on what a video showed me should only take 10 minutes. I’m exhausted and urgently needing to get this going asap. My ultimate goal is to go through Glide University and get certified and use the knowledge to start a business from home. I know helping me is a big ask. I completely understand if it’s not doable. I’m no worse off if you all understandably say no. If you say yes, I will pay it forward and help other single parents learn a skill that could possibly help them as well.

Thanks so much for considering! If you all have a dream you need help with, reach out and I’ll brainstorm with you (whether or not you help me!)

Dr. Teresa Ward - Dream Jedi

Hi Teresa, welcome to Glide and the community forum.

Ideas to get you started:

  1. Great idea to post here in the forum and ask for help.
  2. You can also find Glide experts and agencies for hire here. You’re not there yet, but this an alternative to keep in mind.
  3. Plans: you could get started for free on the free plan. If and when your project scales, you can upgrade to the Maker plan which is designed for consumer-facing applications and would be nicely suited to your project.
  4. To learn Glide, head over to Glide Docs and Glide University.

All the best with your application!

Thanks! I do plan on upgrading to the maker plan when the app is launch worthy.

I was concerned experts and agencies would be in the thousands (because they are worth it). Fiverr has help for $100, but not sure I trust that, so I was trying to navigate on my own since I need to know how it functions anyway.

I am in Glide University now. It’s just very time consuming, and time is not on my side, but, yes, I am headed toward certification ultimately.

Thanks so much for your insight and help
