We’re excited to announce our new Glide Ambassador Program today. Your contributions don’t go unnoticed. We’re super excited to be doing more for our amazing Glide community and would love YOU, exclusively, to join our next cohort of Glide Ambassadors.

Entry is capped at 10 new members per month so we can grow the community at a healthy pace and provide a great experience to all new users. All the information, benefits, requirements and ways to apply are listed below. Signups will be reviewed by the Glide team every 30 days.

So, what does it mean to be a Glide Ambassador?

  • Glide Ambassadors are passionate enthusiasts who teach and share Glide in these ways:

    • Community building — creating and managing user groups online and around the world, teaching Glide through workshops, courses and webinars, hosting virtual events

    • Content creation — creating and sharing templates, producing videos (live streams, tutorials, etc.), creating resource websites, building tools, translating Glide into other languages

  • You decide where you want to go and what you want to do — we’re here to support you!

  • Communities managed by Glide Ambassadors belong to you, not us. Glide will endorse your communities on our social media platforms, but we won’t be officially involved. If you reach a point where you can no longer manage a community, reach out to us and we’ll help. Content created by Glide Ambassadors belongs to you. Glide may sometimes promote non-paid content. In general, we love to share what you make with a broader audience

  • All participation in the Glide Ambassadors program is completely voluntary. We understand that you have many commitments outside of this capacity. If at any point you no longer want to participate, please let us know. There will never be any hard feelings.
  • If you wish to use your position and skills to generate income—that’s encouraged! Many of our Experts already do through courses and consulting (and we’re super supportive). But, we strongly encourage transparency at all times. Our Glide Experts program—which connects certified consultants to client work—is an entirely separate program.

Requirements

  1. Teach and share Glide. You choose the area you’re most excited about. This could be organizing webinars, running a user group, helping out with language translation, creating templates, producing YouTube videos, creating a resource website, or publishing content on social media — it’s entirely up to you. All we ask is for Ambassadors to commit a minimum 2-3 hours every quarter in service to the community, but we hope you’ll do much more over the coming weeks and months! Do what you’re most excited about and let us know what your plans are so we can continue to support you and what you build.

  2. Connect and share. Participate in our private Slack group by actively posting and commenting at a minimum once a week. This is a collaborative community that builds on itself to get better week by week. We encourage members to share their learnings and creations, ask for feedback, and help each other grow. Members of the Glide team will be in there doing the same.

Community Objectives

1. Empower others with Glide.

This can and should have many meanings. Maybe you’re introducing Glide to new users who have never seen it before through social media and videos. Or you’re helping existing users fully realize their Glide powers through a course or events. This program gives you the resources you need to teach and share Glide in ways that make you happy and that feel most rewarding.

2. Inspire each other.

Have fun with the product and with each other. Connect with other users who also love building, teaching, solving challenges, creating content, and more. If this community turned into a straight-up chatroom about cool Glide projects and discoveries, that would still be awesome. This should be a positive environment, with members sharing, providing mutual support, and inspiring each other.

3. Represent Glide in your community.

Community can mean your local geographic area or an affinity group that matters to you. Maybe you want to host webinars for Glide users in Mexico City. Or you want to create videos just for designers. Get recognized as the community leader you are, build a platform around your skills, and equip yourself to convene other users, support them in their goals, and be their conduit to the Glide team.

4. Do good, together.

We as a group have tremendous power to make a positive impact using our knowledge and network. Take the time to create and participate in these opportunities, whether that means pro bono consulting for non-profits that could benefit from our tools, using Glide to amplify underrepresented voices, or helping students learn new productivity methods. Our team works with hundreds of social impact organizations, and many of them are looking for individuals just like you to help them get more organized and productive.

FAQs

How would you describe the Glide Ambassadors program?

We want to bring together Glide’s biggest fans and power users who love getting more people excited about what the product can do. We’ve been seeing so many meetups, classes, videos, and supporters pop up around the world — we want to meet them (and help them however we can)! The Glide Ambassadors program is about connecting these folks with each other, giving them insight into what we’re up to behind the scenes, and supporting their events and projects!

When will I know if I’m a Glide Ambassador?

We review applications once a month. Thanks for your patience in advance if it takes us a while to get back to you. In the meantime, we’d love to see what you’re creating and organizing, so don’t stop sharing with us. We really look forward to meeting you!

Why are you only admitting 10 new members a month?

We wish we could admit everyone who’s interested in becoming an Ambassador right away. But our community team is still tiny and scrappy, and we’re really committed to every single person who joins having an amazing experience. In order to make sure new members feel oriented and connected, and to keep moderation and response times healthy, we need to grow gradually. That said, we’re really excited to build a community that will be hundreds strong all around the world over time — and we’re so happy you want to be a part of it.

How much contact do Glide Ambassadors get with the Glide team?

You’ll be in a private Slack group with Glide team members and your fellow Glide Ambassadors so you can ask questions and share ideas that we’ll take a close look at! You’ll also get access to some early features with opportunities to share your feedback with the team so they can make improvements before they go out the door for everyone else!

If I’m not in the program, does that mean I can’t host events or make Glide content?

Absolutely not! Please keep it up. We don’t want to stand in the way of anyone being enthusiastic about Glide. We not only want you to keep doing what you’re doing, but please tell us about it and email tom.gray@heyglide.com. We want to keep in touch and hear what you’re up to!

Outside of the Glide Ambassadors, there are many other ways to engage with Glide’s community. We’ll be dropping ideas and options here soon!

What are the criteria for acceptance into the Glide Ambassadors?

  • Commit to 2-3 hours a quarter in service to the community, and to contributing to our private Slack community at least once a week
  • Complete the application form
  • Review and agree to our Brand Guidelines and Code of Conduct
  • At least 18 years of age

How long is the commitment?

One year. After a year, you can choose to go through the same application process again to renew your membership.

What are Glide Experts?

Glide Experts are Certified, professional and independent Glide developers who generate income by consulting and building Glide projects for clients. This is a program Glide runs completely separately from the Glide Ambassadors Program.

To become a Certified Glide Expert, you need to complete a rigorous application and certification program to demonstrate extraordinary competencies using Glide. Those who pass the test are added to an official directory of Experts here, discoverable by Glide customers.

If I become a Glide Ambassador am I more likely to be hired by Glide?

No. Glide hiring decisions are made independently of whether someone is a Glide Ambassador or not, and we run fair and open processes for all roles. We want to make sure expectations are clearly set that joining this program does not increase the likelihood of or opportunities for being hired by the team.

Can I make money as a Glide Ambassador?

Participation is only voluntary. While it’s possible to monetize your activities outside of the program as a consultant or Glide template builder, there are no official opportunities to be compensated within the Ambassadors program.

Do I have to be a Glide Expert to be a Glide Ambassador?

No, you don’t! Our dream for this program is to be able to connect people who have been using Glide for years with people who’ve only just fallen in love with it. Yes, we want to work with Ambassadors who can be of service by teaching and sharing Glide to others, but we’re just as thrilled when newer users enthusiastically amplify what they’ve discovered or built in the product on social media or within their own communities. Don’t feel like you have to have razor-sharp skills to be a Glide Ambassador. If you do join, you’ll get there fast anyway.

Do I have to be fluent in English to be a Glide Ambassador?

Absolutely not! We’re thrilled to partner with Ambassadors from all over the world who speak different languages.
