Trying to use the same dataset for Pages and Apps has one big downside - compute columns. Computed Columns’ changes in one Build is not visible to the other Build.

If you need to keep Computed Columns in sync between Apps and Pages (not in real-time but eventually), is there a way to do this systemically (like a log of changes that can be compared) or just manually by users (spreadsheet, paper, etc)

Getting a handle on having an App/Page joint development environment.

I am thinking this is one of the reasons that Glide is opting to go with just one system that will have an app mode and a page mode. I don’t think anything other than manual tracking is likely to happen from the Glide side.

Agree but maybe the merger/migration will address this. More likely it will be a hard cutover.
