Just tried with a new one and it worked, could it be that the data base is too large and it doesnt load it?
I found it in our logs. We’ll fix it by next week.
Hi @Mark
First contact with the new integration with Airtable:
The connection process has flowed smoothly. I think it would be convenient anyway, to include some clarification or link for those who are not so familiar with Airtable.
I have tried with a simple table that only has a single editable field and the rest are computed (by Airtable) and this has been the result:
-
In the Glide data tab it doesn’t allow me to edit the only editable Airtable column, which in this case also happens to be the Airtable Id field. This in Airtable is allowed, but it seems that if it is the first field of Airtable (The ID) Glide interprets it as a non-editable field. It would be nice to have the ability to edit anything which is editable in Airtable.
-
The rest of the fields are Airtable computed and Glide does not allow you to edit them, that’s correct, but be careful! : Glide allows you to change the column type and then DOES ALLOW YOU TO EDIT IT, ALTHOUGH THESE CHANGES ARE NOT REFLECTED IN THE AIRTABLE. IF YOU CLOSE THE PROJECT IN GLIDE AND OPEN IT AGAIN COMPUTED DATA FROM AIRTABLE ARE BACK
Later I will do other tests, but these behaviors are clearly wrong.
I’m enjoying accessing the Airtable data from Glide and hope it will be up and running very soon.
Mark told us above that we can’t yet write back to airtable yet, but it’s coming.
I’m trying to build a form to input new data, but can’t seem to get the fields to show - they act like there is a visibility issue, showing only a blue line in the builder, but never any fields. I’m suspecting it has to do with being able to write to the airtable base, but that’s only a guess.
Can you share a support link to that app and a video of where you’re expecting to see components?
Ah, the problem is that you can’t actually assign the text fields to a column, because there are no writable columns. Glide oddly doesn’t show you the “Column” property in this case, which is somewhat of a bug, but it wouldn’t change anything.
This will work once we ship editing for Airtable (next week).
Have problem while adding data source.
I finished set up, added airtable api key and base URL.
But nothing happend. May be I have large database (more than 15000 records in 22 tables)?
If airtable.is added are you allowed to have google sheet as well in the app app or its only 1 source + glide table?
@darder Could you share a support link to the app, please?
You can add a Google Sheet as well.
@Iaroslav_Romanov Any chance you could invite me to your Airtable base? mark@glideapps.com
Sure!
Just an example of the behavior of Glide importing Airtable computed numeric fields as text .

Is it safe to share support link on the community forum?
From Mark himself, about support links:
- These links are valid for 24 hours. (Edit: now 7 days)
- They can only be opened by Glide Support.
- Each time somebody at Glide opens the link, that is logged, so there is an access record.
- The link allows support to look at your app in the builder. They can see everything in the app you can see in the builder and data editor.
- They can locally change the app in the builder to play around, but those changes are not saved, i.e. your app will not be modified in any way.
- They don’t get access to your spreadsheet.
Yes, it is safe to share support links on the community forum.
We’ve changed that to 7 days, because our support turnaround is not that fast.
Could you post a screenshot of the configuration of that column in Airtable, please?
