Good morning, I have a question, you can log in to the glide app, using a personalized username and password, without the need for an email. thanks

What do you mean, can you clarify more?

What thinh is saying is make the app public to anyone, your home page is the login / register page, it uses visibility features to hide the option to move forward when the data is entered it checks the login name field and password field for a match in the users, also if they are not a user then the…

Glide does not offer traditional user+password authentication. We will likely offer it someday. Maybe you can approximate this, but it will not be secure. Please use our pin-based authentication for secure login.

Not to save user passwords in Google Sheets.

That would be a really bad idea. If you wanted to try and implement some form of user/password authentication, at the very least the credentials should be in a Glide table. But, @david ’s advice is best. Just stick with the pin based authentication. It’s simple, secure, and it works.

Just to add to David’s response, a homegrown username and password system is a bad idea because that entire list of usernames and passwords will be downloaded to the user’s device in clear text. Since proper security, like row owners, is not used, then any savvy user will be able to find that compl…

To put it more directly, never store passwords in a spreadsheet.

David, Can you point me to a Glide app which I can copy to see how it works or some documentation that tells me how to build an authentication system in the existing Glide primitives which allow me to build up an authentication system that allows: Anonymous User: Has access to a limited amount o…

You could actually do this using imported ranges from separate sheets and locking down the second sheet and allowing the glide sheet to import results without compromising anyone’s data. You could even go as far as encrypting the second google sheet to add additional security.
