Timezone's

I’m creating an app that’s going to be for me to “track” my own flight. I’m quite young and I use glide often as a student.

I am very confused with the timezones and glide. Say my flight was to leave LHR at 9:00am uk time and then land at DOH at 17:45 Qatar time (3hrs ahead from the UK). What should I do in regards to using “Respect time zones”

Thanks in advance

Respect Time Zones will adjust the time based on the timezone you are currently in. So if you entered 17:45 as your landing time, when you look at your app after you land, that time will now display as 20:45 because it adjusted for the timezone. I know…kind of confusing. I built an app for a trip I took last year, but I did not use the Respect Time Zone feature. I entered times as if I was at that location, so wherever I am in the world, it will show the same time, which will only be relevant when I’m at that location.

Where Respect Time Zone makes more sense is if you have an online meeting for example. Imagine if you asked people from around the world to join this meeting. If the meeting is at 13:00 your time, you don’t want people to call into the meeting at 13:00 their time. Most of them would be early or late to the meeting. When you turn on Respect Time Zone, the app may show 13:00 for you, but for me it would show 08:00 for example. That way we both join the meeting at the same time.
