Can i set a tab not to appear in the bottom menu bar but still be accessible from a button from the home page?

Yes.
In the left hand panel whilst in the layout view, you can drag any tabs that you don’t want to appear in the nav bar down below the Menu marker. Those tabs will then be moved to the hamburger menu.
