I want to share with you some usecases of animated gifs, although it seems to be laggy.
Anyway it depends on gif size optimisation. Here I demonstrate that gif starts animation after I tap the tile.
I see here 2 useful cases: make preview for tiles or cards with video, or kind of Stories.

Hi! I just have two columns, one with static image, other with gif animation showing video. Then I use user specific column which just show if Card pressed or not. If then else column use this data to substitute the link, if card is pressed then use link from animated gif, if not then static image.
