Safari Browswer - Custom Collections are slow to load especially on Safari

Any idea why custom collections are incredibly slow to load on a safari macbook browser especially when they have images. To an extent you feel its not possible to use them in a live app.

  • The table has got only 80 rows
  • I only display 12 at a time
  • I see Glide manages the images through Cloudinary.

What is the problem then? Is it the display of a custom collection in a grid layout? the screen rendering the height of each card etc…

Any advice would be appreciated.

I’ve not noticed this before. Are you able to replicate the issue in another App? If yes, could you create a sample App that exhibits the behaviour and share the link?

I was able to replicate this behaviour. As discussed separately, best course of action is to log a support ticket with Glide. I’ll also tag this thread for escalation.

I have to confirm that if the image inside the custom collection is replaced by a card collection (this item) then the performance becomes HUGELY better.
