I think sms sending is an often discussed point.

A way of making loading GIFs - lots of nice ones to choose from, and you can pay for premium ones too.
I use this for my GPS lookups - I have a script in the GS to do a reverse geocode, but it takes around 5 seconds to come back with a response and I do not want to leave the user hanging. So I a loading spinner (driven by an ITE column - if-then-else) to display until a value comes back.
