We’re a small team building Snapverse, a social platform on Glide. We’ve been using the Free plan, but we recently hit the file storage limit, which is now preventing uploads and affecting our users’ experience.
We’re reaching out to see if:
Anyone with a Team Plan would be open to inviting us as collaborators (even temporarily)
Or if someone could guide us on alternative ways to manage storage in the short term
We’re fully committed to Snapverse and have put a lot of work into building it. Any support, advice, or collaboration would truly mean a lot to us.
If you are fully committed, then I would imagine you wouldn’t have a problem investing a small amount of money in your project to upgrade to a paid plan.
The only thing I’d suggest doing is deleting some older posts for now. Just remember this isn’t a reliable thing you should keep doing constantly in the long-term, so you should buy a paid plan or move to another platform if you’d like, I discussed more about this matter in my DM on Snapverse.
Glide is not built for a high-volume social platform. If you’re just building an MVP, Glide is great in my experience. But it’s not built for your use case.
Examples:
Glide has an inherent limit of 25,000 private users (scalability).
Data is easily scrapable/downloadable if someone has access to your app (data privacy/ownership).
You’ll also need more than the free plan, because there’s a row limit of 25,000 rows per app. To store over 100,000 rows (e.g. for posts), you’ll pay over $250/month (scalability).
If you intend to scale up very big, Glide is not the right platform, I’m afraid.
