Preview: Inline Templates in components, actions

Hello Gliders,

We’re kicking off Phase 2 of our Inline Templates open beta.

Inline Templates let you pull values from your data without having to create unnecessary template columns.

The first phase limited inline templating to Text components, as mentioned in recent community updates. This new phase expands the scope to include:

  • Rich Text component
  • Hint component
  • Send Email action
  • Send Slack Message to Channel action
  • All nine AI actions

You can enable Inline Templates from your team settings in the Glide dashboard:

Our dev team is watching this thread, so please bring all your questions and comments related to Inline Templates here.

Thank you! :raised_hands:t2:

I cannot seem to access user profile columns when using this whereas previously I was able to. Is this a new limitation of this feature or a bug?

It’s a bug. They’ll be back shortly.

Kinda neat! Even works on a free team!

Hello,

Super useful feature, thanks a lot!

However, on my app it seems that the font size is not the same on the rich text component when using the new inline template feature as before. I’m using a ton of rich texts and it impacts the overall design of my product is it’s not the same font size. And I don’t want to re-do all my rich texts components. Is it fixable? Thanks a lot

There shouldn’t be any difference in font-size. Can you share an example?

Here is a loom https://www.loom.com/share/5fcd31d0b3e2435bba95684f57ed6aaa?sid=9419b91e-ced4-4ce2-a5e0-6cc24a911d8f,

and it also removes the line breaks. Thanks!

Hey @NoCodeAndy

Is it possible to use inline templates when designing an app for template store?
