The Insiders instance is only for testing. Don’t build production apps there. We might break or even delete them. The API Column lets you get data from an external service directly into your app, without involving Google Sheets. You will have to implement the API endpoint. The Webhook Action is an action that lets you call into a webhook. Among other things this lets you call Integromat from Glide. This is an experimental feature which is still subject to change, but we wanted to get some of your feedback. You can check it out on our insiders instance. My first use case for the API column is my personal app “Big Words”, which is a flash card vocabulary training app. To add new words to the app I didn’t want to have to type in the full definition of a word, but instead get the definition from an online dictionary: [2020-12-15 15.29.41] Here’s what the configuration of the column looks like: [image] I posted a comment below with information on how to implement an endpoint for the API column and the webhook. Note again that this is still preliminary and will most likely change.

Same. Haven’t touched anything MS related in about 12 years. Last version of Windows I remember using was XP.

I’ve made a GitHub repo with sample code and instructions for deploying your own Glide API endpoints: https://github.com/glideapps/glide-api

I still don’t get it…how would I call a public API, say unsplash, with this endpoint?

You would call the Unsplash API using JavaScript from this endpoint, and return an Unsplash image URL as a string value. If you are not familiar with JavaScript and calling APIs from code, you will have a very hard time making it work–this is a specialized technical feature not meant for most Glide developers!

Rats. Is it a similar method to Glitch server? I managed to figure that one out last night!

@Mark @david. Maybe this is something to consider long term for API integration. [image] Using App Script with a JSON API Community Resources For complex JSON structures, it would be awesome if glide created an entire separate glide table from the JSON object. They could set it up to pull input values from another sheet, then populate the results from the API in a separate table, complete with headings and data. This is technically what I’m already doing with ImportJSON in the google sheet. I have a personal app where I get data from the API of a campground reservation system to populate an entire sheet with data from one of my fav…

Open Weather Map! [2020-12-19 14.50.34] @Mark this API specifically requires me to switch screens before it refreshes. [image] Glide · Create Apps from Google Sheets

@Robert_Petitto Your endpoint is not returning if the input is not a valid ZIP code, it seems, which causes Glide to not update. As soon as you start typing Glide will query the API, even if the input is not complete yet, but if a request never returns Glide doesn’t try again. Arguably that’s a bug on Glide’s side, but it’s also definitely a bug in your endpoint  [2020-12-19 18.35.54]

I’m learning! Maybe we can discuss this Monday. Thanks for taking a look!
