It would be extremely helpful if Glide supported true pinch-to-zoom functionality on images displayed within Glide apps, especially on mobile devices.
Currently, users can tap an image to enlarge it to full screen, but there is no ability to zoom further for close inspection of details.
Why This Would Be Valuable
Many Glide apps are used in real-world operational and field environments where photos are critical for verification and documentation.
Examples include:
- Delivery confirmation photos
- Signature verification
- Package/tote inspection
- Equipment condition photos
- Inventory documentation
- Field service reporting
In many cases, users need to inspect small details within an image, and the current full-screen view is still too limited.
Real-World Use Case
We are currently building a route and delivery communication app for drivers, dispatchers, and sales reps.
Drivers upload drop-off photos throughout the day, and sales reps often need to review:
- Signatures
- Tote labels
- Packaging details
- Product placement
- Delivery confirmation details
Being able to pinch and zoom directly within the Glide app would dramatically improve usability, reduce confusion, and eliminate the need to download images externally just to inspect them.

- Standard mobile pinch-to-zoom gestures
- Pan/move image while zoomed
- Support inside both image components and full-screen image viewer
- Native iPhone and Android gesture support
This enhancement would provide major value for logistics, healthcare, field service, construction, inspection, and operations-based Glide apps.
