We use glide internally for multiple apps for 30+ uses but fundamentally we are a B2C business.
One of our tools is a quoting platform that we would love to have a customer version of where they can login, view quotes, request quotes, ask to proceed etc. However it seems to be more worth while to have a maker plan for this use case.
AM i right in thinking the best route here is for me to have a business account (we need the business account for api etc) and have a separate maker account for the customer facing versions of our apps?
If so does anyone know if there is any oppurtunity to share a glide table between the accounts? If not i guess ill have to look at gsheets? Whilst i find them less reliable than glide tables
I’ve not tried it myself, but I’ve heard that it’s possible.
Essentially, you would duplicate the existing App in your Business team, choosing the “Keep same sheet” option, then transfer the duplicate to your Maker team. This in theory will give you a separate App in the Maker team that shares the same set of tables as the original App in your Business team.
Again, I’ve not tried this so I can’t guarantee that it will work. And even if it does, I can imagine that it’s a loophole that Glide might close at any time.
Exactly what @Darren_Murphy said, plus you might want to use Glide Big Tables to aggregate more data anyway.
The way I would approach this is to try to fix the number of rows on the Maker plan with user-specific columns wherever possible and then send that data over to GBT on the Business plan.
