Hey fellow gliders
I know this might not be a popular opinion among certain quarters but i would not be doing justice to myself if i didn’t ask. One wiseman once said, the answer is always “No” unless you ask.
From the onset let me say this, i love glide as a platform. i have learnt a lot of things in terms of nocode and even low code to some extent. I started using Glide in November 2021, if i am not mistaken and since then, i dont remember a time where more than 2 days would pass without me interacting with the platform whether via this great community platform or through building Apps on the builder.
Lately i have found myself battling to keep up with its development as a platform and this has been largely due to certain features being put behind a paywall, which of course they must because they are a business and need to pay the bills.
My ask is if it would be possible for the Glide team to consider a lower priced tier because at $86 for the Maker Plan, its quite steep especially for those in developing countries. Even if it means unbundling the maker plan because sometimes you dont need 3 Apps, you just need 1 at maybe $15-$20 which will be inline with other App builders in the market at the moment which i will not name on this platform as it would be disrespectul in my opinion.
One thing i think is key going forward is to retain the current user base and the best way to protect your market share in the current environment is to ensure that you cater for your users at every price point.
I know some will say, i can use the “Free trial” but thats just a temporary fix because after 30 days Glide will have introduced other features e.g. further automations.
I know i am not the only one with this challenge. Since the automations have been released, i have not had the opportunity to test them because the biggest stumbling block for me is the pricing point for the maker plan.
If this is not possible then that is also fine but i just had to ask and maybe even get a better understanding from a business’s point of view.
I will repeat, i do love the platform but i am increasingly falling behind and struggling to keep up
