Let us customize team roles and permissions

Hey Glide team,

I’d love to see more flexibility in how team roles work. Right now, the roles like “Member” or “Admin” come with fixed permissions, and that can be limiting when working with a larger team or managing multiple apps.

What I’m hoping for is a way to create custom roles where I can decide exactly what each person can access or do. For example:

  • Give someone access to only the Data Editor
  • Let a designer edit a specific app without touching others
  • Prevent certain roles from deleting or publishing apps
  • Allow read-only access for QA or reviewers

This would make it much easier to manage teams, reduce mistakes, and keep everything more secure.

It would be amazing if we could also have templates for common roles, and maybe even see an activity log to track who did what.

Really hope this gets considered! I think a lot of us working with teams would benefit from it.

We recently faced a serious issue where a developer with full Member access unpublished our app, stole the domain, and republished it under their own name — even turned it into a fake “hacked” page.

If Glide allowed custom roles, we could have limited their ability to publish or delete apps. Features like read-only access, role-based permissions, and activity logs would’ve saved our project from being hijacked.

Fully support this idea — hope Glide prioritizes it soon. :locked::rocket:
