Is tables going away?

I received an email telling me that “Area 120 Tables” will transition to read-only on July 31, 2025. Does this mean apps built on tables will no longer work?
That’s a little scary.

Is “Area 120 Tables” the name of your App?

What is being deprecated is Glide Classic Apps. And yes, if you have a Classic App, then it will stop working at the end of this month. It can however be converted to a new App using the migration tool.

Hey @Darren_Murphy, thanks for the quick response.

Here’s the exact quote from the email I received:
" We are writing to inform you about the turn down of Area120 Tables on December 16, 2025. You may continue to view or export your data until this date."

Before the turn down date, all tables will transition to read-only on July 31, 2025. This means that you can view table data, but you will not be able to create new tables or edit existing tables."

My fear was that this means ALL TABLES were going away. My apps are not classic apps, but they are built on tables.

Do you have any idea what this email is talking about?

Where did the email come from?

I’ve never heard of anything called Area120 Tables…

Sounds like some kind of experimental Google thing that google is no longer supporting. I don’t think it’s an email from Glide. It’s from Google. Not really Glide related unless those tables were somehow being used with a Glide app.

Just to clarify. Area 120 tables is a Google product. It is not a Glide product.

Thanks @Jeff_Hager & @Darren_Murphy – you guys kinda confirmed what I thought. It seemed pretty unlikely that tables would just go away.
As always, thanks for being here to help out a rookie. Much appreciated.
