Hi all! I am brand new to this entire environment and so excited about learning. I recently started a financial education company and want to build an app with it (I WANT TO BUILD SO MANY APPS ABOUT EVERYTHING), lol. One thing I have learned is that the platform I build on needs to be PCI Compliant. Does Glide meet this requirement?
Welcome to the community.
The payment gateway used, Stripe in this case is PCI compliant.
Glide does not log any customer payment card details. It is done by Stripe.
So as long as your payment system is PCI Compliant, that makes your App compliant?
No it does not. If you are in Europe you have to comply with GDPR etc. On your specific point, yes.
I would like to import consumer credit information. I am wondering if I need another step to be able to do this?
This is very very much a grey area. I would seek legal advice before going ahead. Glide is very good for alot of things but because it is California based, I’ve noticed the emphasis is mostly on compliance with the laws of the US more generally. Because your thinking of importing consumer data which includes payment details, security of the data would be an issue. But if just question of buying and selling , them your covered as Stripe would handle all that for you.
So please speak to the leaders about this. Maybe their legal advisor could put you on the right track.
I am in the U.S. Which leaders are you referring? Glide?
Oh sorry. Glide leaders. Yes.
Thank you.
