Import excel - Glide table empty columns

Importing data from excel into a glide table via “import” requires the column names to be identical to the glide fields. Everything works well except every now and than “glide” creates new empty columns. I am assuming that something, some “invisible content” in the excel sheet triggers this. Is there a minimum requirement how empty an excel column has to be in order to be ignored?

My only suggestion would be to ensure you have removed any extra (unused) columns from the Excel sheet before importing.

I had the same issue and the solution was to convert the Excel Sheet range to a table.

Watch the video embed on the Microsoft Documentation:

Tried, have created/ formated table…result 27 new empty columns… did not work…

Not sure how to do this, Excel seems to always add empty columns to the right…

Even after converting?

yes…

You are talking about the “AF” to “AJ” ? If you do, these are not included in the table.

No question - however Glide generates empty columns anyways so my problem still exists. Every import a new bunch ?!? - 37 to be exact…

Daren but than again the question why would Glide import unused columns?

It sometime happens when there are value in cells somewhere in a row. Check the 37 columns and verify if you see value in a row.

Created a new excel, copied only values, formated table and it did work. Thx
