Please, is there any way to unlink Airtable and Glide keepping the data only in Glide and without losting the links with the app?
I’m not well-versed in Airtable, but do you mean unlinking all Airtable bases you connect to Glide, and expecting the current data to stay as is, possibly as Glide Tables?
Yes, @ThinhDinh! I’m using the Glide Team Plan but I want to migrate to Maker Plan. So, I’d like to disconnect The Airtable Sync but I’m worried to lost the data.
You have a couple of options:
-
Option 1. if you backup your Airtable table and delete the original Airtable table (that Glide is linked to) inside Airtable, then Glide will automatically convert your linked Airtable table into a Glide Table and then unlink Airtable from your sources. All your components will remain intact inside Glide.
-
Option 2. If you duplicate the table in Glide Tables, then it will create a copy of the Airtable table, while making it a Glide Table. You can then unlink the Airtable Table. However, once you do this, you will need to rebuild and reconnect all your components in Glide, so this is going to be a pain in the behind.
To be absolutely safe that you’re not going to lose your data while also avoiding the hassle of reconnecting everything:
- Step 1: do option 2 first, so that you have a backup of your data in case anything goes wrong. If everything goes smoothly, then you can delete this table later on (see Step 3).
- Step 2: then do option 1. Remember, in option 1 don’t delete anything from Glide, just duplicate the table in Airtable and then delete the original Airtable table from Airtable.
- Step 3: If Step 2 goes smoothly, and your components are still connected from that table, then you can remove the duplicated table you created as a backup in the step 1. If Step 2 doesn’t go smoothly, then you can use this backup table to reconnect or rebuild your components in Glide anyways.
Thank you very much, @Jarvis! I did a test and delete only one sheet of my Airtable and works! So, I can delete sheet by sheet to have time to remake the links among sheets that were in Airtable.
Glad it worked!
That’s very well explained, thank you!
