How to: combine 2 look up columns

I’m looking to merge 2 lookup columns (with numbers) to create an average.
I saw here in the community that I could use an “append array” to combine them:

But then when I tried to get an average with a rollup column, it only returned these options:

Is there a different way to combine these columns to get an average? I’m looking to display a business rating.

Append Array converts arrays to strings. Try the much more useful “Make Array” column instead.
