Correct. In order to save the value of the URL parameter after you navigate away from the page you landed in, you need to save it in a User Specific column using a custom action.

Hi guys! I’ve come across this problem a lot and have never found a solution that convinced me beyond hiding the button with CSS in Classic Apps. But this approach that @Jeff_Hager commented on, I loved it and did a test to see if it worked… and it works perfect!
