BTW…clever solution using the main screen/go back button like that. Outside the box!

Correct. In order to save the value of the URL parameter after you navigate away from the page you landed in, you need to save it in a User Specific column using a custom action.
I successfully made this work to create an app that tracks affiliate referrals → Referral App

Hi guys! I’ve come across this problem a lot and have never found a solution that convinced me beyond hiding the button with CSS in Classic Apps. But this approach that @Jeff_Hager commented on, I loved it and did a test to see if it worked… and it works perfect!
