I’ve had this happen a couple of times and this one really sucks since I lost a lot of work on the new page and id like to not lose it all.
I have 2 buttons that both “Show New Screen” and have different content on each
Button #1 start showing the values for button #2
Button #2 still shows original values for button #2
How can I make button #1 open the correct new screen again? Thanks!
Best advice I can give is to always use named/saved/custom actions.
Yeah I could see how that would help. So there is no way to get the old content back? Where did it go??
Difficult to say. Have you tried undo?
That might work depending on how much you’ve done since.
Show New Screen is a bit different in that it is bound to an action, and the screen only exists while the action exists. So they are easy to lose if you aren’t careful. Which is all the more reason to use custom actions.
I just had another button break and showing a new screen from a completely different screen
If the issue happened recently, try hitting the back/undo button in the Layout Editor (bottom left).
‘New Screen’ screens are a little tricky because they aren’t a tab and aren’t really attached to a table. It’s probably there somewhere in the ether, but not accessible to you. At least this is how I understand these ‘New Screen’ screens.
It seems to be completely imploding the app, I have 20+ buttons showing new screens
The weird part is I didn’t change anything, they just started breaking from use
I also don’t see how using a action will help because its the same thing as choosing “Open new screen”
Saved Actions will help simply because they are saved and associated with the parent table. So you can always find them later.
