This is good news for import range and who ever is using google data studio for reporting specially with low code apps you can store data and filter them to limit your resources while using glide or any other tool

The article said it’s borderline unusable if you reach that many cells though. I wonder if it’s even usable at 5 million.

As the article says very clear:
If your spreadsheet has 10 million cells, you no longer need a spreadsheet. You need a database
With Glide the situation is similar, if your APP has 60k+ Rows you must move and use a real database.

Well as you can see if you are using import range then at that case its useful and cases such as datastudii for BI it will be beneficial
