Hi. We have a couple of apps written by a member who is no longer at our business. We are getting the following error message.
“Glide could not reload the sheet”
Can someone please step me through how to reconnect to the Excel sheet. Many thanks in advance
What data source were you using for the app? Excel or Google Sheets?
I am not a Glide expert, but I wanted to share some insights. Here is what Glide AI suggests for this error:
- Disconnected data source: The link to your Google Sheet or Excel file might be broken.
- Permission changes: If sharing settings changed, Glide can’t access it.
- Moved or renamed file: If the sheet was moved or renamed, Glide can’t find it.
- Network issues: Temporary sync issues can cause reload errors.
- Structure changes: Deleting rows, columns, or headers can break the sync.
How to fix it:
- Check that the file is in the right place and set to “Anyone with the link can view/edit”.
- Make sure your internet connection is stable.
- Check for recent changes to the sheet’s structure or location.
If the problem persists, you may need to re-link the data source in Glide.
If you don’t have experience with Glide and this app is critical for your business, it might be best to look for a professional. You can find a list of experts from the “Experts” link at the top of the page.
Hope this helps!
So, to clarify, did this developer use his personal account to create the spreadsheet?
