I am new to creating apps. This is my first foray. I have been using Wix to design websites and find it quite intuitive. I have started using Glide and find it clunky. Is it me? I have tried to watch the videos but they are not the same as the current online version. There seems a bigger learning curve than there should be. I have tried AI within Glide but it goes off on a tangent. I have asked Chatgpt for guidance but it gets mixed up between versions. How best to start do you think?
I would start in the Glide University. Work your way through the Introductory Course. This will give you a good solid grounding in the essentials.
Thank you can do. Will I be able to use my creation to upload onto Google Play Store. Eventually I want it to go public
Not natively. Glide Apps are Progressive Web Apps (PWA’s), which are typically distributed and installed via a link (URL). That said, there are 3rd party vendors that will help you if you want to distribute them via App Stores.
I’d advise you to do a bit of research before going too far. Check out the pricing options on the Glide website, and read some of the customer case studies. This will give you a feel for the types of Apps that are being built with Glide. In short, Glide is more suited for business Apps, and less suited for consumer Apps. It could be that Glide is not the right choice for your use case.
