Font style and sizes

I have noticed that when you create a basic text component you get lots of style options which also affect the size of the font… I think the list is small, regular, large, footnote, headline small, headline medium, headline large and headline xlarge. However, when you create a text entry field, and many other objects that contain text (tables, buttons, labels, etc) these style options are not available (but would be very desirable). So, my request is to make these style options available to all text components.

My primary use case would be to make text larger to assist individuals who are visually impaired. And I suppose, therefore, if there were a user option to set text size (globally in the app) to a different size that would be an additional request. But the first request above, would definitely be a step in the right direction of allowing the visually impaired to read the text more easily.

Thank you.

Have you considered placing texts components between other components such as collections or entry fields in forms, and then leaving labels/descriptions in these other components empty?

Your current request, if granted, would leave the door open for a developer with poor design skills to create a screen that would look particularly unusual with many texts of different sizes. One of Glide’s unique selling points is that Glide takes care of interface design: apps will good out of if the gate irrespective of the developer’s design skills.

I like your idea of having a global app setting for the visually impaired, and as you mentioned this would be a separate feature request. It would be my preferred approach.

By the way, you can vote on your own feature request.
