Creating an Agency

Hello, I’ve created an application that, in my opinion, could help many small and medium-sized businesses by simplifying the process of recording reports. I was thinking about the possibility of selling my application.

The idea is to create a generic template from the app I’ve developed, and for each new client, create a personalized app based on that template. With the “Business” plan, I would have unlimited applications to publish, so I could host each app from my Glide account.

Do you think this is feasible? Is it efficient? Does anyone have any advice?

Be mindful of all the other plan limits. You don’t want one user creating so much traffic with updates and user counts that they lock out all the rest of your clients. That won’t look good for you. You can enable additional additional updates and users for a price, but who covers that cost?

The official recommendation is that each of your clients create their own team and then you develop in their team. That makes them reasonable for billing and overages.

If this is a serious consideration, you should consider becoming a certified expert and getting an agency plan. Then you can benefit from revenue shared from your clients paid teams among other benefits.

With certified expert you mean the solution to gain 20% from a plan revenue?

If I create a unique app and different enterprices login all in the same platform? I can manage all the data with row owners and stuff like that. What do you think about?

The agency plan is not intended for hosting client apps and should not be used for that purpose.

In short: Glide doesn’t have a plan to allow you to create a SaaS platform.

With Glide, as a company, organization or individual, you can build app yourself. Or, as a company, organization or individual you can ask a 3rd party, either Glide expert or agency, to build the app for you (thus the Agency plan and become a certified Glide expert or solutions partner).

But there is no viable option to build a SaaS model on Glide if that is what you are looking for.

So the best think to do is became an Glide Certified Expert, subscribe to the agency plan, an then I create the app.
The client will host the app in his account through my link, and when he started a paid plan I will earn a revenue of 20% right?

I see that there are 10,000 updates with agency plan, why there is a limit update if the purpose of this plan is to gave the app directly to the client?

As I said, the agency plan isn’t intended to host clients’ applications. You can build your clients’ apps in the agency plan. But when it is time to deploy, you will transfer it to the client’s team.

Yes, as a Glide Certified Expert, you will earn 20% of the revenue for the first 24 months.

So the 10,000 updates are only for “testing” the app I create. Because once I transfer my app to the client, the responsability for the update isn’t mine.

For one year.

EDIT: For 1 year as a community expert, for 2 years as a certified expert.

The purpose of the plan is:

  • To allow you, as an agency, to have a plan to build apps, not for your clients, but for the agency.
  • To allow the developers of the agency, I will assume you, to test features that a Glide business plan would have.
  • To allow you to create business trials for prospects and if they subscribe you would automatically receive a commission from Glide for helping convert the prospect into a paying customer.

Correct.

You can also build your personal apps in the agency plan.

The revenue share is avaible also if the client subscribe to a maker plan?

If he buy other updates, for example he look for 5k updates, which for maker plan cost 159$ I earn a revunue of 20% of 159$ or 69$ which is the basic cost of maker plan?

Exactly !

20% of 159$ right?

Thanks for the clarification, even better.

The maker plan is $828 US per year. So 20% of that.

20% of whatever revenue you bring to Glide.
