Just watched the video on YouTube about how the team is using GitHub to develop Glide.

It is very interesting, and you should watch it.

Seeing it will make us appreciate the collaboration and hard work everyone does in the background to create new and exciting features. (These plugins for example!)

This makes me feel good about choosing Glide. Great job, Glide Engineering!

You beat the innovator’s dilemma
It’s very difficult for growing organizations with many customers demands to recognize an opportunity and take time ($) to innovate. (More tests will come in the future :slight_smile: )

Two potential positive outcomes

  1. Software quality should improve and also allow more enhancement requests to be managed
  2. New opportunities will open up with the plugin strategy that further separate Glide from other platforms

Leadership
The fact that Glide trusted an intern to “run with it” is wonderful. This is the kind of company I want to do business with. Gliders are fortunate.

When I see a request “Can you just add xxxxx, it shouldn’t be too hard or take that long” :grimacing:

Me - “You have no idea”…If it was that simple everyone would do it.

Producing good software is hard, takes time, needs talented people, experience, vision, determination, time and money…

Yeah, there’s a great team doing super work! We can’t praise the team enough. But then again … I don’t think a user has to know how difficult it is to build Final Cut Pro, how difficult it is to make a Tesla or how difficult it is to make a great curry ;-). But the video is meant for the GitHub community of course.
