UrlBox File Storage Location

Are PDF’s generated with the Urlbox integration stored in Glide and use part of our storage limit?

Seems Urlbox themselves cache files for 30 days from generation.
Is the file added to Glide storage anyway or will we need to use S3 could storage configuration in Urlbox to keep files longer?

Good question. What does your URL look like? I would expect it to be part of your storage limit, but I’m not sure.

Links look like this:

https://storage.googleapis.com/glide-prod.appspot.com/uploads-v2/filename.pdf

Imagine a member of the Glide team might have some details on the setup of the integration?

I would think that counts towards your storage, and it should be available as long as you reference that somewhere inside your apps.

Can you clarify this further @NoCodeAndy ? Thank you.

Thanks,

Concern for us isn’t so much on using up our storage. Rather knowing if Glide is storing it or if we need to setup S3 Storage directly with Urlbox?

If it goes just like how PDFMonkey’s integration behaves, Glide stores it.

Ai Support bot says:

“Glide stores the PDFs generated with the Urlbox integration. When you use the Generate PDF action, you choose a column in your Glide app to store the resulting “Uploaded PDF”. This column will contain a link to the generated PDF file. You don’t need to set up S3 storage directly with Urlbox. The integration handles the storage for you within Glide’s system.”

But also:

“Files uploaded through third-party integrations, such as Airtable attachments, are stored in Glide and count towards your team’s file storage quota. Unused files are typically deleted after 30 days of inactivity. However, as long as a file is linked to your app in a table, it won’t be deleted (assuming you’re within your plan’s storage limit).”

We cover file storage details in the Glide Docs:

Hope that helps.
