It would be very helpful to viewers when looking at the new calendar layout if the current date was somehow highlighted or bold, and events on past dates were grayed or lightened. Future dates would be shown as they currently are.
Example noted below. The goal is to easily differentiate between current, past, and future dates. I often filter out past dates, but in many cases it is helpful to keep them.
