Hey Glide builders!
A lot of you have been asking me how to securely share private rows between users, beyond just UI filters. I finally put together a full video showing how to create, share, and revoke access to rows in a way that truly protects your apps.
In this video, you will learn:
- How to implement a row-level ownership system in Glide.
- Ways to securely share specific data with users.
- How to revoke access when needed, all while keeping your data safe.
- Tips for building a system that scales as your app grows.
This is ideal for anyone building apps with sensitive or private data and wanting real control over who can see what.
Watch it here:
The Glide App template is in the video description.
I would love to hear your thoughts and questions after watching.

Bookmarked. Will watch your video in the next few days, really looking forward to it.
I’m asking questions before having watched your video:
Have you used this in production?
Is it “easy” enough to set up?

Yes, I used it in production for 2 apps right now! And also yes. Just do step by step!

@ThinhDinh curious (hope you don’t mind me asking): do you extract the transcript and throw it into AI then into whimsical or what is your workflow to create these diagrams? Or is it just old-fashioned skilled manual work?

Extracting the transcript and throw it into Gemini. I have a custom prompt there to tell it to generate a Mermaid diagram. It then decides what to do.
I process stuff this way nowadays

YouTube can be pasted there as a link, and it has context on what’s on the screen, not just the script, so it helps a lot. I use it at work as well.
