Seeing 200 Items At Once Like In An Excel Sheet

I am building an app for someone who takes attendance multiple times a day on an excel spreadsheet. He likes it because he can see all 200 names at once without scrolling and can just ‘x’ the boxes as he runs down the excel sheet, and within 2-3 minutes he’s done.
How can I emulate that in Glide? I can’t seem to be able to see all 200 names at once.
This is on a desktop, not mobile. Ideally would be true for tablet as well.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Welcome to Glide’s community forum :waving_hand:

You can use the data grid or table components for that, and add a column with column type “Button”.

In Excel or Google Sheets you can adjust the height of the rows, so you can squeeze a lot of rows on the screen. You cannot do that on Glide, there will probably be a little bit more line spacing than you would like.

The data grid component is more compact than the table component.

Yea I was using data grid…wow so there is no solution to this type of thing?
Is there a way to request such a feature? Because it’s basic and very advantageous.

Two ideas for you:

  1. Create a feature request
  2. Maybe you could apply CSS to the data grid to reduce the row height

Try changing the zoom level in your browser.

Nice one. Why make life complicated when you can make it simple.

Have you tried adjusting the page size of the Data Grid collection?
Also, if the user needs to make changes on some rows as they go through the list, you may be better off with a table collection. This allows you to add inline buttons with associated actions/workflows.
