“If you build it, they will come”
Hi David, I understand what you say about accounts at the free tier trying to avoid the 200MB Limit, so make it available for Pro and above.
I’m pretty sure your busness model is not about storage, you need to let people build more secure apps somehow.
I work for a Regulated Investment Fund, and I just can’t work with glideapps if it’s data it’s not secure.
I see this request was made two years ago, so I wonder if there are any plans to add it to the roadmap.
please let us know if anything changes.
Thanks!
+1.
Having the ability to secure sensitive files in a Glide APP would drastically reduce the need to house Applications on the APP stores. For us to use Glide, we need to build 2 separate Applications. And it’s just easier to use an alternative platform and build out a single application. Fingers crossed.
+1 ! It’s becoming a deal-breaker for us using Glide in the future.
+1 We’re waiting for the good news from Glide, as usual…
Im also looking for an internal solution.
Currently the simple solution seems to be to use Short.io integration and deliver those to the user with the timing/cloaking set. However that requires another paid service and also uses a lot of updates that are hard to control as the user without storing each download link against the user.
I’m not yet clear if it will work and if it will deliver large files at an acceptable download speed or if cloaking on the shortener will affect it.
While it’s a pretty simple solution I’d prefer and internal solution with glide to generate random timed links that cloak the source and allow us to use S3 (or similar) and deliver from nearest edge location to user.
Just here to add a +1 to this conversation. Has anyone found a decent workaround at least that doesn’t compromise sensitive business data?
Bumping it up +1
Any update on this? I just started working with another client that wants this feature.
Just thinking out loud here…
What about a solution to this product request being a Google Drive (or Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.) integration that allowed the file upload component to upload directly to the external service and set user access?
I’m basically doing this with Zapier/Make as a workaround, but it takes some time to set up.
