Good day Gliders. The drivers use the data grid below to make changes to the schedule for the day, mostly pickup sequences and times. Since yesterday we encounter the following problems:
-
We always copied the new time to all the other relevant entries. Now it immediately jumps to the Component sidebar and adds a Choice component below. Always a Choice. And it doesn’t paste.
-
When we combine 2 routes into 1, we always clicked or tapped on the 1st column (P or S) to change the entry. Now it deletes the record without warning. One has to select a column further to the right and then back-tab to the 1st column.
Has anyone else encountered this?
I don’t know why it’s doing that, but it most likely wouldn’t be a problem in the published app because the user is not in the builder. I’d be more concerned if the published app didn’t allow you to copy and paste.
Hi @Jeff_Hager , thanks for the suggestion. On the dashboard the app does show as Published. Two things I did not specifically mention is that I am the builder (if that is what you are referring to) and it happens with me too. Also if I edit the field I can paste without problems. It’s only when I select/highlight a field and then copy and paste that it does that.
What do you know? I just checked again and it is copying and pasting as always! No idea why, I even tried using ctrl key together with neighbouring keys in case I pressed then too but that had no effect. If it wasn’t for the screenshots I wouldn’t believe myself…
But the app still deletes the record if I click on the P or S in col. 1. That’s on the laptop btw. Maybe I should try it on the phone too.
Update: Works perfectly on the phone.
No, I meant the Glide Builder interface where you design and build the app. In practice, a user would be using the published version of the app as opposed to navigating into the builder to use the app…and likewise, a general user of the app would not be able to copy and paste components or modify the interface in any way. The builder is for building the app, not for general use of the app.
Thanks, that clarifies it. In my app only myself and some staff (drivers and supervisor) have Admin roles and they all navigate through the menu structure, i.e layouts with buttons. So they are able to change data in this grid but that’s just about it. I found that ability very useful for quickly changing the route due to traffic congestion etc. It works very well!
