Hi Glide Team ![]()
I’d like to submit a feature request regarding the Photo / Image Gallery experience in Glide, which currently feels quite limited for real-world use cases.
Current limitations
At the moment, Glide only offers:
- A single image component, or
- A basic carousel that shows one image at a time
For apps that rely heavily on visuals (real estate, travel, rentals, e-commerce, portfolios, etc.), this makes it difficult to present content in a practical and modern way.
What would greatly improve Glide
It would be amazing to have more gallery visualization options, such as:
- Grid / mosaic gallery (multiple thumbnails visible at once)
- “Hero image + thumbnails” layout (similar to Airbnb)
- Built-in lightbox (tap → full screen swipe)
- Better swipe & zoom behavior on mobile
- Ability to show multiple images without forcing users to scroll through a single-image carousel
Why this matters
Many builders are currently forced to:
- Create complex relational tables just to fake a gallery
- Use Web Embeds and external tools
- Or compromise UX entirely
A native, flexible gallery component would:
- Improve user experience dramatically
- Reduce app complexity
- Make Glide even more attractive for visual-first apps
I truly believe this would be a high-impact improvement for a wide range of Glide builders.
In my case I’m developing my real estate long term rental and managing app, and the UI looks so basic and most of the things I can customized trought CSS but the Imagen-gallery are my biggest problem.
Also I have an app for restaurants and I’m having the same limitant.
Thanks for considering it, and keep up the great work ![]()
